BAILEY’S HERD

  • Bailey

    BAILEY

Bailey was initially bred to be used for showjumping but at an early age it was evident that his bone formation would never allow him to be ridden, jump or compete.

In 2008, at the age of 4, our founder Susie stepped in to secure his fate and offer him a loving long-term home where he would be loved, and his physical and emotional healing would be an ongoing priority.

During his time at our sanctuary, Bailey has enjoyed numerous holistic therapies to help and support him including reiki healing, bio chemistry, herbal medicine, cranial sacral, bowen, McTimmony chiropractor and more.

He is a calm, gentle and peaceful horse and is a natural healer who has always been drawn to adults and children who need support themselves. He is often seen resting his head on visitors’ shoulders, lovingly reassuring them that life will get better. He is such a caring soul.

    OSCAR

Our beautiful black pony Oscar came to us after becoming homeless. His human mum used to do Natural Horsemanship and loved him dearly.

Oscar is super sensitive and would often react to loud noises, including raised voices and his human mum was concerned that he wouldn’t be able to cope being in the traditional horse world. She wanted a long-term home for him where Natural Horsemanship, kindness and love would be a priority.

We took Oscar on and showered him with love, compassion, kindness and respect. Over time his personality began to shine through. He is quite stubborn but will do anything for a carrot!

  • Chester

    CHESTER

When we first met Chester, he was just 15, but he looked so much older with various physical scars on his body, and he looked exhausted. We knew he would need a lot of love, support and healing from us humans, that we were happy to give, to help him recover.

He settled in very well and once he had been given chance to rest and heal, he became very loving, intelligent and funny with a playful nature.

When his human friends are in his field he likes to play with their hoods, sleeves and zips. He also loves to grab hold of muck pickers and swing them around as well as knocking wheelbarrows of poo over!
