Our beautiful black pony Oscar came to us after becoming homeless. His human mum used to do Natural Horsemanship and loved him dearly but after facing some financial difficulties she could no longer afford to look after him, so we took him on in 2010 at the age of 10.
Oscar is super sensitive and would often react to loud noises, including raised voices and his human mum was concerned that he wouldn’t be able to cope being in the traditional horse world. She wanted a long-term home for him where Natural Horsemanship, kindness and love would be a priority.
We took Oscar on and showered him with love, compassion, kindness and respect. Over time his personality began to shine through. He is quite stubborn but will do anything for a carrot!
We loved it when he became best friends with Bobby (our robust pony from Dudley) as they were complete opposites in character and built a strong bond together. Sadly, Bobby crossed over rainbow bridge on 5th December 2024. It has taken some time for Oscar to navigate through his emotions and process losing his best friend as they were inseparable.
We are happy that his friendship with Chester and Bailey has now deepened, and they all look out for each other and can be seen playing in the fields together. We love this sensitive boy.
