Louie was an emergency rescue.  A baby horse of just 12 months old who had sadly not been fed for months during one of the coldest winters.

When we walked him off the lorry, he was a walking skeleton!  He was placed in a small private paddock, besides Ruby’s field and herd.  He immediately collapsed.  The vet was called and gave him 24 hours to live due to his neglect.

This poor little boy didn’t even have a name, he had never known love and was in a very sad state.

Susie, our founder, gave him the name Louie and decided to text and call everyone she knew, asking for help, prayers, love and distance healing.  Within 24 hours, 52 people from all around the world stepped forward to help in some way.

Susie lay with him on the grass under a duvet all night, holding him and telling him he was safe and loved.

The following morning 11 friends arrived to help Louie, a winch was made from scaffolding pipes and a harness to go gently under Louie’s tummy.  They all helped to stand Louie up.  We tempted him with a small amount of horse food but instead he wanted Susie’s rich tea biscuits!

Over the following days Louie would collapse and would gently be helped up using the harness.

We noticed that in the field next door, Michael who was currently still a baby himself, was carefully watching Louie.  We decided to let Michael into the paddock to encourage and support Louie in getting well.  This worked!

We used both veterinary medicine, and holistic therapies to help him recover.  He benefited from biochemistry, vitamins and supplements, Bach flower remedies, homeopathy, and Reiki healing.

Louie has grown into a magnificent young man.  He is super handsome with his chestnut fur and is a confident, cheeky and happy pony.

He is friends with everyone in his herd, but he and Michael have a particularly strong, everlasting bond.

We love Louie and feel he has taught us that love, kindness and compassion can heal!
